The sun is currently in the pits of a century-class Solar Minimum. However, the quiet won’t last forever. This week, a sunspot from new Solar Cycle 25 appeared on the sun and unleashed a minor solar flare about B1 with no geo-effects. These are signs that Solar Cycle 25 is sputtering to life, heralding a new Solar Max in the years ahead. The Solar region is just gone, but for the experts the new cycle has already begun, but with almost a year of delay.
